Standard Asymmetric disclaimer

Asymmetric standard disclaimer:

General:

As I will be discussing many issues that necessitate drawing distinctions between ideas, nations, religions, or behaviors, I feel it necessary to emphasize that I count the decent of every group, controversial lifestyle, and belief system I mention amongst my friends. I affirm that on most subjects, people can be diametrically opposed to my view, yet do so without bad intentions. I acknowledge that many differences in opinion have nothing to do with one’s intelligence or ability, but reflect different goals or world-views. Finally, despite the differences amongst people, everybody has worth if only for the fact that they posses a soul and are therefore worthy of consideration and entitled to a minimum amount of respect.

I'm an officer in the Army. You may notice I don't often criticize the Army or the military in general or discuss personal conversations with my fellow soldiers. This is by design as I feel it dishonorable to reprehend somebody or something in public, but not in person and generally poor form to disparage one's own occupation. Everything I write is OPSEC safe.

I'm also a teacher. I will also refuse to bathe my school, students, or colleagues in a negative light.

On the other hand, I assure you that every praise I give people and things associated with my professions is sincere.

I will link to this disclaimer on all future posts where such a statement is necessary.
