Should the military use animals for training?

07/29/08

CNN.

HONOLULU, Hawaii (AP) -- Animal-rights activists want the United States to stop using animals as subjects to help train its military, calling the medical and trauma exercises cruel and a disservice to the troops.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals sent a letter Monday to Defense Secretary Robert Gates asking him to replace the use of animals with non-animal methods such as human simulators.

PETA seems reasonable this time. If the Army can use an alternative, it should; we shouldn't use animals just for fun.

Will PETA ever shut up? Can they be trusted? PETA is an eco-facist organization with zero credibility and I wouldn't support them anymore than I would support the KKK.

Remember folks, if you love your hamburger or a great bbq'ed steak....

THEN PETA IS YOUR ENEMY!

How about PETA members offer themselves in lieu of goats, pigs etc????

What a silly comment from Wallace Ryan! So many silly and stupid comments and so little time!!

Yes Peta promotes being vegetarians but that's not really what they're all about. They are for the
ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS. Ryan go look up
what Ethical means and you'll see that we don't hae any...especially when it comes to the treatment of
animals. So I personally don't agree with everything
they do and say -- but they support proper treatment for the fellow creatures on this earth and I don't see what's wrong with that. I noted that Ryan said nothing of substance...just Peta is your enemy and we're supposed to be commenting about the army's use of live animals for this "excercise". It needs to stop ...period! If you were a pig, which there is some debate about lol lol just kidding then this issue would certainly be of prime importance.
