Why I was rarely scared of Democrats and Iraq
01/01/07
A couple of months after the Democrats won the election, what changes can we be sure of? A higher minimum wage. What about Iraq? Nothing. Not one new idea at all, just as I predicted. Even Harry Reid agreed to more troops. And where's Murtha? Is that because the Dems are bad? No, it's because they're not that bad. As I mentioned before, the anti-war stuff was just posturing. They know that leaving Iraq is a bad move for the country and they don't want to be responsible for another Vietnam-like surrender disaster. There's no possible good result from leaving Iraq at this time. None. If you think the Iraqis are going to get along fine after we leave, you're committing an act of naivte more colossal than Bush's original notion that Iraqis will ALL respond positively to freedom. On the other hand, while were there, we still have a chance.
So, rest easy in 2007 and give the Democrats credit; they won't consciously harm the United States.
