Angelina Jolie confirms anti-gay stereotype

08/10/07

From here. You know how some people are criticized as homophobes by the politically correct for advancing the notion that gays can change their sexual orientation? Well, Angelina Jolie decided to give up girls. Anne Heche did it too. Does that mean that sexual orientation is a choice for some? Should society encourage people who can be happy in a traditional, opposite-sex relationships to do so? Is it the state's concern?

It is when it comes to marriage.

I have absolutely no problem with gays and gay relationships. That said some of the arguments for gay marriage are lame. Proponents claim that they are denied equal rights. But the fact is that anyone can get married as long as its to someone of the opposite sex. I know it sounds weird but the point is they have the "right" to marry but like anything there are certain limitations. There are bridges in America over which it is illegal to drive a heavy truck. That does not mean that the truck driver can't cross if he does so in a car it just means that society has decided that it's for the greater good that that certain vehicles don't pass.

By the way you bring up good points about how certain high profile lesbians have quietly "given up" being gay. One of the anchors of the argument by the gay lobby is that it's not a choice but something you are born with. Liberals like to say abortion is a choice but you apparently don't have a choice in who you jump into bed with. Maybe they should try the same approach for abortion as for gay rights and say they were born with a compulsion to kill human fetuses.

Oh and anyone that has even a passing familiarity with sexuality knows that it's all between the ears. What floats each person's boat is different and such things change over time. People that enjoy S&M and wife swapping may have at one time been missionary position puritans. In other words many aspects of sexuality are learned. That's not to say that there isn't an overriding attraction to one sex (regardless of where it comes from) but that one can probably learn to be attracted to the sex that is opposite of the one that a person might be currently attracted to.

Henry says that he has no problems with with any kind of life style, and he goes to explain the different life styles of people and wife swapping.Apparently he still has no problem with any form of love making. Sort of makes me feel like I descended from a lower form of species...I bet you dollars to pesos henry is an agnostic to put it mildly, apparently he has heard that sin is a mistake and not a biblical term...good luck henry!
