Have you noticed that the left's more nervous of late?

From more Democrat and Republican congressional support for the surge to Keith Olbermann's unhinging (thanks, Mr. Paine), do you detect a certain apprehension amongst the usual suspects? This can only mean one thing: We're doing better in Iraq.

Too funny! We're so nervous, we've got nuns ready to impeach!
It's called rage, not nerves, dearie.
We're doing better in Iraq, though. So well, in fact, we should be bringing troops home (not the lucky ones who get to come home early in body bags) in nine or ten years!
USA! USA! USA!

The Iraqi prison population has increased 50% since the surge began. Iraqi civilian deaths are on pace to double last year's numbers. U.S. troop deaths are at their highest levels since the 2003 invasion. Millions of Iraqis have been displaced and have fled their cities and towns or the country altogether with hundreds of thousands living in tent cities in the middle of nowhere. The Iraqi people have no electricity, no running water, so they have to eat rotting food and drink putrid water. We're now arming Sunni insurgents in al Anbar and other provinces, which will only fuel their civil war with the Shiia, whose militias are actually in control of a large majority of the country, wielding more power than the collapsed central government -- and there is absolutely no end in sight.
Oh yeah, and they HATE US FOR DESTROYING THEIR COUNTRY AND WANT US TO LEAVE.
Yeah, we're doing better in Iraq...sure...

I've only erased one, though I should do the same to this baseless charge.

Hey there ng... count me in as a usual suspect please.
Ask me what makes me nervous... or don't but let me answer my own question just for kicks and giggles. What makes me nervous is knowing that the policies set forth by this administration since the lead up to the war in 2002 have been manifestly wrong headed. Time after time they have made the wrong decisions. Yet for some unfathomable reason the koolaid drinkers insist, year after year, disaster after disaster... that somehow Bush has it right. It's the people like the author of this post that make me nervous because of their seeming inability to formulate opinion based upon fact or substance. These opinions are formulated solely upon faith in the infallibility of the President, facts or figures be damned. Thats what makes me nervous.

Better? Iraq is the crowning achievement of this Republican administration.... how much better than that can you get?

Thanks for stopping by. I'll ignore the faith thing since I don't know what you're talking about. When I say nervous, I think there's a group of people in the nation who have so much invested in losing, that they wouldn't welcome positive news. You have to ask yourself how you would feel if things kept getting better in Iraq. Would you be happy for your nation? Would you be sad because it would seem to vindicate hegemony? Would you be sad because you'd end up looking like a nagging back seat driver?

Let's see, Sunni Sheiks kickin' Qaeda's Ass; would this be the same Sunnis killing Americans a years ago because of the US support of Maliki's clustersmooch, you know, the same ones that Saddam used to keep happy, and with whom he propped up his dicktatership? Hmmm, any port in a storm I guess. Come on dood!, the decider's just covering his bu-tocks, legacy being what it is you unnerstand!

Nelson,
Could you point to any of the recent reports that have come out recently that indicates progress? Maybe your attempt at psychoanalysis on the left is actually more revealing of your own psyche. Maybe you have too much invested in your pipe dreams that you can't look back. How would you feel if this was the worst strategic mistake of our lifetime?
peace,
noel
p.s. I left a question buried in another post at magnasquids,http://magnasquids.com/index.php?topic=1504.msg13250#msg13250
but I am curious, are you back to supporting Romney? n.
