Has Hugh Hewitt lost his mind over Mitt Romney?
01/09/08

As I type, I'm listening to a radio host gone mad. Something I take as a sign of derangement, Hugh Hewitt is currently promoting an honest-to-goodness conspiracy. According to Hewitt, the liberal mainstream media got together and decided to sabotage the strongest Republican in the race, Mitt Romney.
First, I doubt that the media can't be that coordinated. Second, the conservative media is at least as critical. And third, Mitt Romney, who can't get support from anybody under 73 years of age, does worst amongst himself, Giuliani, and McCain versus Hillary Clinton. McCain, in fact, beats her by five points, ten points better than Romney who loses to Hillary by five.
Worse is Hewitt's thrashing of McCain, the likely, as of today, Republican nominee. I've met Hewitt and he's a super nice man; I hope he doesn't wade into the deep end to meet other nearly-always-wrong pundits Kos and Howard Dean.
