Hugh Hewitt: sore loser

02/06/08

From here

Also notice the optics here. John McCain, flanked by his mother, his wife, grey-haired Charlie Crist, and Democrat Joe Lieberman. The cumulative age of all five in the shot is 332 years old.

Now go to the Barack shot. There is 13 people behind Barack. Average mien age? Twentysomething. If you add up the ages of all of them, it's still less than the five people in the John McCain shot.

Have we sunk this far? Looks? Age? Can we get a little more depth from our prominent commentators, please? Do Hugh Hewitt and his followers who commented below the post realize that in head to head competitions, McCain beats Hillary Clinton and ties Obama (unlike Romney)? Do they know that McCain does much better amongst the young than Romney who couldn't get anybody under 47 to vote for him? Have they ever considered that older people vote more anyways?

The Democratis debates have had zero issues and the moderators haven't challenged either Obama or Clinton. What happens when somebody brave like McCain asks Obama exactly how he's going to effect change?

"How much will you raise taxes? What will happen once we leave Iraq?"

Let's go people. Looks don't matter. Charisma does, and I think McCain has it in spades.

It is sad, but elections have become beauty contests to an extent.

We can say the Reagan was approximately the same age as McCain is when he was elected, but Reagan didn't LOOK old.

McCain does.

He may be spry and active, but he's old.
