Der Spiegel on Obama
02/22/08
Interesting article. The German magazine makes the analogy between the pre-2000 NASDAQ and 2008 Obama.

This Steingart character in Der Spiegel is the same guy who wrote on January 22nd of the "end of the Obama revolution" because he couldn't capture women, older voters, and blue collar workers. He's still trying to be right. But he's no more prescient then than he was now.
Why is it that all the supposed professionals who purport to argue that there's no beef behind Obama's rhetoric never give the slightest indication that they've ever gone to his web site to check out (a) his past accomplishments (such as passage of weapons controls, government transparency and injured vets legislation) and (b) his detailed prescrip-ion for future programs? Hey, you can have an opinion, but at least do a smidgen of research before spouting off, okay?

Due to this funny guy called Steingat Spiegel is loosing of being a serious paper. The irony is that the other guys at Spiegel are not realizing it yet. This can happen faster than they think, if they keep giving the idiot to write the thrush on the paper for weeks and months. It is realy incredible and arrogant insult. For how idiotic did he think his German mostly "college level" and "political elite" readers are? Or are they really? He must know it better. The lack of critic on this issue in German media landscape irritates me and worries me more than Steingart's headlines.

Obama doesn't speak about proposals and when he does, it's the usual semi-socialist stuff. What he talks about is "change" and "hope" which are silly at best and dishonest at worst.

"Obama doesn't speak about proposals and when he does, it's the usual semi-socialist stuff. What he talks about is "change" and "hope" which are silly at best and dishonest at worst."Well, may be you can't read, or haven't heard of him talking. To the point, he said, he is going to change folks do politics in Washington, their lobbyist funded politics. He said also it is not the lack of ideas which is the problem, but the mind set of people who make wrong decisions influenced by the big $$. If you are really interested in the detail policies, you would have known it already. The most elaborated detail plan is on his web site.

OK. If you believe that, then more power to you. so far, I like the way he's talking on the teachers' unions, the other unions, and trial lawyers.
