Ferraro- Dumb and dumber

03/12/08

Ferraro's comment that she can't criticize Obama who, again, has been pretty good on the whole subject before this week, is taking this argument to a whole new level of dumbness, and I can't say I'm not enjoying this whirlwind wrought by liberals themselves- their identity chickens coming home to roost, so to speak.

Although I still think it's true that some people vote for Obama because he's black, the question, as I've insinuated before, should be, "so what?" People choose candidates for a host of reasons- looks, voice quality, etc. Let's see:

Ferraro says that Obama has it easier because he's black. Obama then says it isn't so (wrong) and criticizes Ferraro for bringing it up instead of using my preferred response, "so, what" (above). Then, Ferraro says that she's being criticized because she's white which is, wrong, I think- Obama would have criticized a black person who said the same thing.

Now, Ferraro may have just been being honest, but she could have been casting doubt on Obama's credentials as well, which is what Clinton, has, in fact, been doing all along.

I won't go on since my brain is hurting just thinking about this except to say that I'd prefer if candidates didn't whine about why people like the other candidate better.

Would Hillary Clinton be in the position she is in if she hadn't had the good fortune of having married a man who many years later became president. Would we know Hillary Rodham otherwise?
