Obama campaign has pre-total implosion syndrome
03/22/08
Obama's campaign is the most prickly group of people. Besides all of the race stuff, they tried to turn a routine case of government carelessness into "passportgate."
Now, they've put the worst possible spin on Clinton's statement.
From here.
Statement:
“I think it would be a great thing if we had an election year where you had two people who loved this country and were devoted to the interest of this country,” Clinton said. “And people could actually ask themselves who is right on these issues, instead of all this other stuff that always seems to intrude itself on our politics.”
Half cocked reaction:
“It sounds more like McCarthy,” McPeak said. “I grew up, I was going to college when Joe McCarthy was accusing good Americans of being traitors, so I’ve had enough of it.”
Kathleen Parker on NRO has the first-hand truth and it's really quite innocent.
What's amazing is the claim that McCarthy accused innocent people of being Communists when, in fact, the accuses were card-carryers. It's a total emotional, "they're meanies" reaction.
