A thought for Memorial Day
05/25/08
Whether or not you think America was justified in every war in which it participated, you have to admire those who are willing to sacrifice their lives for what they consider a cause greater than themselves. One way to appreciate those men and women is to imagine the alternative. Picture living in a country where nobody would fight, risk death, or, in fact, die, as those we honor today, for their country. Would you like to live in such a country?
God keep our fallen soldiers. God bless America.

What difference does it make?

On Memorial Day, we find it difficult to express our profound gratitude to those who were willing, throughout history, to stand up and fight for us.
May God bless them all.
May God bless them all.

Do U.S. Servicemen and Servicewomen honestly think they are fighting for OUR freedom and rights in Iraq? If so, how?

Speaking for myself, we're primarily fighting for our "interests." Years down the line, if we don't take care of our interests, we could be fighting for the other two.

Please paint the scenario where we are fighting for our rights and freedoms "years down the line".
I also take it you don't agree with all the wing nuts who CONSTANTLY scream the phrase "fighting for our freedom in Iraq"?

If only the whole world didn't want to fight, that would be a utopia.
