McCain challenges Obama to debates
06/04/08
McCain is right to challenge Obama. He issued his first challenge to Obama when he asked him to visit Iraq ("No, things are not better!" I wonder if he'll use Arianna Huffington's line about the military lying to reporters.). Now, he's challenging Obama on debates. This is a good move because:
1. Obama is a terrible debater when challenged.
2. Obama is the most nonsubstantive candidate since Jar Jar ran for Galactic Senate. What happened when somebody challenged him on Iran, payroll taxes, capital gains taxes, anything about Iraq? What happens when McCain asks him how he plans to reduce gas prices by not drilling for oil? How raising taxes will bring back jobs?. It's all smoke and mirrors and direct confrontation should make Obama look foolish or at least illogical. That's assuming that McCain is sharp enough to articulate Obama's weaknesses.
3. Democrats know that Obama's full of it too. I never hear any of them defend the actual things he said. They hope that he can avoid getting pinned down as a leftist long enough to get elected and then foist his social paradise on America.
I say challenge, challenge, challenge.
