Equal pay: What's McCain thinking?

07/20/08

I watched this video to humor myself with Obama's claim that he worked his way through school, but the McCain soundbite really bothered me. I find three possibilities, each of which is disturbing:

1. He supports the concept of "equal pay" wherein the government says something like, "Hmmm, a bricklayer needs about the same education as a secretary; we should force employers to pay them the same. If companies refuse, we'll sue them." It would be a legal, paperwork, and regulatory nightmare for employers, as you can imagine.

2. He's lying.

3. He's pandering, accepting one of the left's most odious implementation of their equality fetish because he thinks that's where America's at. Say it ain't so.

Dude, what have been saying all along. This guy is a wildcard that relies on no discernible core ideology when he takes his positions on issues. The global warming thing, this equal pay thing, the voting against tax cuts thing.

We F-ed up when we nominated this guy.
