Easy, conservative brothers: Barack's hubris statement
07/30/08
From here.
"It has become increasingly clear in my travel, the campaign, that the crowds, the enthusiasm, 200,000 people in Berlin, is not about me at all. It’s about America. I have just become a symbol. This is the moment, as Nancy [Pelosi] noted, that the world has been waiting for.”
Is this the way people really talk in strategy meatings? This sounds suspiciously like something Obama wanted us to hear like his prayer in Jerusalem, "I don't care what the press says, I want to help America, and this is the way to do it!"
If he really said it, I'm sure you could actually hear the "whoosh" from the meeting attendees rolling their collective eyeballs.
I know Republicans are trying to pin the "arrogant" label on Obama, but this is no big deal; it's politics for the non-political people who vote on emotion and likability.
