Asymmetric commentary on Obama convention speech

08/28/08

1. Obama: "I will tell you exactly how I'm going to do..." stuff and then goes on a series of generalizations, distortions, and outright lies.

2. Barack is telling people to turn off the TV and the audience is yelling like mad men, "Yeah! Junior isn't watching TV tomorrow. Thanks, Barack."

3. This is the same old speech that McCain makes fun of.

4. The red-blue America thing again?

5. OK. We can all agree that gays and lesbians can visit their partners in the hospital and not be descriminated against by the government. Can we stop talking about it now?

6. Stale tactics? Promising the majority of people "everything," paid for by the minority probably started in ancient Greece.

7. Obama wants a country of individuals that forces people to "help" others. OK.

8. Change comes to Washington? So, should I still vote for a non-wave-making junior senator and another one that's been there since 1972?

9. Country music. Why didn't Obama just wear a NASCAR jacket?

10. I wonder if the fireworks are authentic or Chinese video trickery. You know they have much better infrastructure.

11. What's up with "the government can't solve our problems except just about all of them" contradiction? Can't they just say that they want to move towards socialism?

12. Can we stop these political benedictions? It's annoying and insulting.

All in all, a failure. Anybody over 17 with a brain will conclude that this guy's full of it.

1. Obama: "I will tell you exactly how I'm going to do..." stuff and then goes on a series of generalizations, distortions, and outright lies.

Really, So I have to believe you? Even though I saw the same speech and got the answers I need to go out and do everything I can to get him elected. I will be personally driving as many of my friends and acquaintances as need rides to the polls. Good luck convincing intelligent people to vote for McCain with your blog.

2. Barack is telling people to turn off the TV and the audience is yelling like mad men, "Yeah! Junior isn't watching TV tomorrow. Thanks, Barack."

I am surprised you got permission to stay up late to watch the convention coverage. Does your mommy know?

3. This is the same old speech that McCain makes fun of.

I know, Ol' John, he's such a card.

4. The red-blue America thing again?

Bothers you cause it works, huh?

5. OK. We can all agree that gays and lesbians can visit their partners in the hospital and not be descriminated against by the government. Can we stop talking about it now?

Why? just cause you finally get it, doesn't mean some of your bud's understand the definition of "discrimination".

6. Stale tactics? Promising the majority of people "everything," paid for by the minority probably started in ancient Greece.

He promised us hard work to get to that point, some of us are willing to do it. Are you?

Kingdoms, fiefdoms, etc. were setup so that the general population paid taxes so that royalty (wealthy people) could live in castles, in return, the population (poor people) got "protection" from the "enemy", of course, poor people had to serve in the armies to provide that "protection". Hmm, sounds familiar?

7. Obama wants a country of individuals that forces people to "help" others. OK.

No, I think he is talking about what the bible tells us to do to help each other, you know, "whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, you do unto me." You know "Christian Values"

8. Change comes to Washington? So, should I still vote for a non-wave-making junior senator and another one that's been there since 1972?

Or help us all out and stay home. Apparently, you aren't paying attention to what is actually happening.

9. Country music. Why didn't Obama just wear a NASCAR jacket?

You mean like Geo. W. Geo. did the whole hog, go see bubba at the racetrack thing.

10. I wonder if the fireworks are authentic or Chinese video trickery. You know they have much better infrastructure.

You could ask one of the 84,0000 people who showed up, then you would know for sure and stop asking. Have you been to China? how do you know they have better infrastructure? I have been to China a few times, their infrastructure sucks as far as construction as a whole, although the Germans, British, Norwegians, Japanese and even a lot of American Companies are over there teaching them applied engineering, semiconductor engineering, road construction, etc.

11. What's up with "the government can't solve our problems except just about all of them" contradiction? Can't they just say that they want to move towards socialism?

Hmm, Who said what you have in quotations? Was it Barack Obama? You don't specify, yet you seem to be attributing them to someone at the convention. Are you paraphrasing? Whom are paraphrasing?

12. Can we stop these political benedictions? It's annoying and insulting.

We get to hear the political benedictions and insulting rhetoric in Minneapolis starting next monday. Oh happy day, you will be squealing like a little girl then won't you?

All in all, a failure. Anybody over 17 with a brain will conclude that this guy's full of it.

Man, it must be so cool to be you, and how you can pontificate about that you know how everyone over 17 and intelligent thinks.

Barack accomplished everything he needed to do. He brought together the Democrats and any Independents or Republicans who are disillusioned with the current group of conservative wankers. Is that enough votes? Maybe, maybe not.

Is Barack any more full of it than whom? McCain? Bush? Chaney? Rove? DeLay? Rumsfeld? "Duke" Cunningham?

1. Um, it’s a blog Hector. You don't have to believe him...

2. Your response proves your own childishness.

3. This is just another one of Obama's speeches putting aside the whole acceptance thing at the beginning.

4. Yea, the sheep start cheering whenever they hear it.

5. There are more important things in this election than gay rights.

6. Um I really don't like the idea of the government forcing me to do hard work. If you have the free time and energy to do more, please go for it if you wish. Some of us don't have that luxury...

7. The key word is "forces." It’s not very moral to force someone to do something they might not want to do.

8. See #2

9. You’re really on a roll see #2

10. Um I'm guessing you are either misinformed or have trouble picking up on sarcasm. I love how you contradict your own candidate's statement. Might want to do a little research...

11. Barack Obama (see title of post). Yes. Yes that’s fairly obvious. Obama and some democrats.

12. Both conventions will be filled political benedictions and insulting rhetoric. Its just politics. See #2 again.
