Asymmetric view: Angry losers begrudge democracy, warn of right wing anger
11/13/08
According to the LA Times' James Rainey, the "right wing" is overflowing with anger. His evidence:
"The Obama recession is in full swing, ladies and gentlemen," Limbaugh told his radio audience of 15 million to 20 million on Thursday. "Stocks are dying, which is a precursor of things to come. This is an Obama recession. Might turn into a depression."
So much for dissent being patriotic. I wonder if the stock market, a precursor of the economy, surely, had tanked after a McCain win and Obama had warned, as McCain and other Republicans did, the nation about the Fannie-Freddie crisis, if Rainey would have been so fair?
Rainey has little sense of proportion. Compare Limbaugh's exaggerated, but plausible explanation of the stock market to the "Bush lied, thousands died;" "Bush is an idiot tool of the oil companies," "He's not my president" hysterics of 2000-2008. No contest, in my opinion.
Who's been the angriest so far? Who have stripped parishioners of their crosses, in scenes reminiscent of the Spanish Republic; attacked churches; used racial epitaphs at out black brothers and sisters? The "No on 8" people, of course.
