I fully support her answer. There is nothing in it that is hateful or hurtful. She is a good person that has as much right to speak her mind as do the gay population that protest the streets of CA for the last several months. Being straight might not be popular but I still don't mind it.

Everybody has the right to prefess their beliefs, however ignorant they are, but politics are a large part of these pagents. These women are representing many others. Ms. Prejean might have considered consistancy before answering the way she did, however. Why should her beliefs stifle the more than 1,000 rights, beenfits and privleges the term "marriage" affords hetersexuals in this country? And heterosexual partnerships are not "traditional marriage" as same sex couples were often married during the Renaissance, and in other cultures, as well as many other countries today. The only defense her statement made was of ignorance, and, if insistant, then I'm sorry, but bigtry.

Didn't she represent her state of California by giving an answer that reflected the recent VOTE (the only poll that counts) of its citizens....

BECAUSE you are no different that anyone else! we are all gods children! i am not saying this so would be nice on your site (though that would be nice jk;) but because the LORD has spoken "love cuz god loves" hey!!! what about me??? would i make a good miss usa?? ;)"

Heidi Montag, another committed Christian, also twittered her thoughts. "[L]esbians should have the same government rights that Spencer and I will when we get married. So, yes, this blonde Christian believes in gay marriage. God says not to judge and I would never try to judge ANYONE! Nor should our "free" country," "The Hills" starlet wrote.

I had a few thought provoking comments about the above contributions of Ms. Moakler, Ms. Cyrus and Ms. Montag.

** If Mr. Hilton would not have asked a ‘wide open’ agenda provoking question, an agenda provoking answer could not have been given, but notwithstanding Mr. Perez’s motives and the question, more importantly, it is essential for Christians to understand completely how God feels about Gay behavior. Those who believe or call themselves ‘Christians’ need to know what he has said through his prophets and apostles anciently as recorded in the Bible scriptures of the old and new testaments. Those who say don’t judge need to know that God has already judged that behavior on several occasions. There are several versions of the bible, I will quote from the older, less ‘diluted’ versions and explain briefly what is being said and encourage all to read, ponder and search diligently the scriptures for themselves frequently. Hopefully you will not wrest the scriptures or selectively agree with some of them and disagree or attempt to dismiss others of them for that is a slippery slope.

**These men wanted to ‘know’ them. In this context it (‘know them’) means they wanted to have sex with the men staying with Lot, Lot offered his virgin daughters instead but the gay men (of the city) refused. The angels blinded the gay men trying to force their way into Lot’s house and finally, after Lot left, Sodom was destroyed. Of all the ‘wicked behaviors that could have been mentioned in this account, homosexuality took the first and only place. Is God a homophobe ? No, He loves all of His children, even the Gays, but this defining ‘Gay’ sexual behavior/wickedness was widespread in Sodom and it had to stop. Would anyone dispute the judgment of God plainly displayed here ? I will not list the same accounts in the NIV and NAS versions but the meaning is the same. Check it out for yourself…

** Here we see Paul, the apostle talking of lesbians and gay guys who give up natural sexual relations with the opposite sex for homosexuality and that the behavior is condemned. The Mosaic law, although ‘done away’ in Christ plainly talks of condemnation for men or women who have sexual relations with the same sex.: See Leviticus 18:20 – 24 20 Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour’s wife, to defile thyself with her. 21 And …, neither shalt thou cprofane the dname of thy God: I am the Lord. 22 aThou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. The law of Moses was done away but the principles i.e., concept or doctrine of the abomination of homosexuality is still taught by Paul and by others of the apostles; 2 Pet. 2: 6 6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly…. ** Here we read that having sex (lie with) the same sex is an abomination and that what God did to Sodom was an example to all of the results of their wickedness (ungodliness) thus the apostle of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Peter reaffirms that the behavior of the Sodomites is still wickedness, even after the 'greater law' of Christ is ushered in. Pray to God for understanding, acceptance of His will and the ability to repent if needed.

The scriptures above are hard to deny and dispute. The judgements of God against gay behavior are plain and deadly. It is spoken of as perversion and there are other cursings associated with it as described by Paul, the apostle of Jesus Christ. Christians need to understand that the scriptures are plain about the perversion of homosexuality. Allowing marriage, an institution supported and encouraged by God to occur between 2 of the same sex is solemn mockery before God when His will on the matter of homosexuality is considered as plainly written in the scriptures.

Help others by posting this as a contribution of a Christian friend where it counts the most - My Space, Twitter whatever. The more Christians who read it, the better .... Those who believe as Shannon, Miley and Heidi need to know this. Use all or part as you see fit.

I am not Bible scholar, and I will not pretend to know what God's scriptures mean given the numerous translations and transliterations; however, I will say, with little confidence of being correct, that today's Bible as I understand the meaning of words would seem to condemn homosexuality. Whether this is reliable truth or not, I can't say, but I have read advocates of gay marriage interpret those same scripture and reach a contradictory conclusion. It seems perfectly legitimate to me that one might reject the Bible as mythology or literary fiction if you are atheist, but I don't see how one can read the same words and call right left or up down. I was raised Christian and consider myself a believer. I still wonder about the Bible but I certainly believe in God of my understanding. One thing is clear to me, however, and that is it is wrong to condemn this young woman for having a belief or point of view that is not politically convenient. It seems to me that the gay and lesbians are less tolerant than she. She expressed her honest feelings on the issue without being hateful; she seemed to accept that society allows views and beliefs other than her own, now the gays have attacked her mercilessly and made and activist in defense of her own integrity. I really don't care if Adam marries Steve, but I am beginning to think they are mean and hateful people who show not tolerance while in search of acceptance.

Homo sex marriage could never be the destiny of man kind or should never be the majority in our family structure or otherwise man kind will disappear on the earth sooner or later since we produce no more offspring.
It is obvious why our LORD forbid this.

At first I was for her ouster,

but now that I see Prejean fucks out of wedlock I'm all for her reinstatement.

Perez Hilton was an ass to treat her the way he did.

It was her opinion, so what if it wasn't his. I'm sure he has many opinions that others don't agree with, and I'm not even talking about the gay issue.

However, in light of current events, it's clear that had she won she wouldn't of held on to the title for very long.
