I have always felt Marino was the best pure passer I have ever watched play the game. However, if I was up in the draft and could chose either with my next pick, I think I would have to toss a coin to see which QB I chose. I don't see how you could rate them 1 or 2 either way. I know some will say Farve has won a super bowl... but football is the ultimate team game and all that indicates is Farve played on better teams. I think both should be watching out for one Mr. Manning. He might just might make this argument an after thought. For me Marino 1 and Farve 1A.

Brett Favre breaks another of Dan Marino’s records !!!
His records include: most career NFL touchdowns passes (440), most career NFL passing yards (61,405), most career pass completions (5,351), most career pass attempts (8,716), most career NFL interceptions thrown (286), most consecutive starts among NFL quarterbacks (251, 271 total starts including playoffs), and most career victories as a starting quarterback (159).

Marino hands down, Favre is a great QB, but
he is just a product of longevity. You will
own every record if you play in enough games.
All time, Favre isn't even in my top 7-8 QBs.
I respect what Favre has done, don't get me
wrong, but what would have Marino done in as
many games?...no contest. I'm not a Phins
fan, nor a GB fan.
1. Montana
2. Marino
3. Brady...hate to say it, but he'll be #1 soon
4. Elway
5. Staubach
6. Aikman
7. Bradshaw
8. Young
9. Unitas
10. P Manning
11. Favre
All these QB's with the exception of Marino
have accomplished much more IMHO than Favre.

Marino is far better than Favre. The records and Super Bowls do not factor in. No QB that would be considered great would make the big mistakes Favre made throughout his career. The interception this year, the mutiply pick game against the Rams, the bad interception against the Eagles in the playoffs. Marino, Montana, Elway, unitas, or any great QB does not make those mistakes.

FAVRE IS THE GREATEST AND THAT IDIOT WHO PUT THE LIST UP THERE IS A DUMBASS BECAUSE LONGEVITY IS PART OF BEING A GREAT QUATERBACK! BEING ON THE FIELD EVERY DAY MATTERS AND NO OTHER QUATER BACK HAS DONE IT BETTER. PLUS BRETT FAVRE ONLY PLAYED ONE MORE YEAR THAN MARINO AND ONE OF THOSE YEARS WAS WITH THE FALCONS WHERE HE NEVER REALLY PLAYED SO THEY HAD THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME IN THE LEAGUE SO WHAT YOU'RE SAYING DOESN'T EVEN MATTER YEAH HE THREW SOME INTERCEPTIONS BUT HE THREW A HECK OF ALOT MORE TOUCHDOWN PASSES THAN ANYONE ELS THAT EVER LIVED SO YOU GOTTA TAKE RISKS TO BE THE BEST. tHE POINT IS THAT BRETT FAVRE IS THE GREATEST QUATER BACK EVER NO MATTER HOW YOU LOOK AT IT HE HAS ACCOMPHILED THE MOST IE most career NFL touchdowns passes (442), most career NFL passing yards (61,655), most career pass completions (5,377), most career pass attempts (8,758), most career NFL interceptions thrown (286), most consecutive starts among NFL quarterbacks (253, 275 total starts including playoffs), and most career victories as a starting quarterback (160). SO TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT.

Brett Favre has a BETTER Reg. season Resume and a BETTER Post-season Resume than Marino. In other words, Favre has a BETTER TOTAL CAREER RESUME than Marino. Marino's problem was TOO MANY INTERCEPTIONS. Consider this: Dan holds the NFL Record for PLAYOFF GAMES with 2 or more INT's. He had 10 such games, and the Dolphins were a dismal 1-9 in those games, and 3 of them were Conf. Champ. and S.B. games. There went 3 RINGS for Dan and his teammates.
