Why I'm skipping the NFL playoffs this year
01/13/08

Let's face it: The NFL playoffs don't matter without the Oakland Raiders. Heck, I'll even say football isn't football if one of the teams isn't wearing silver and black. With the New England "It's Pats" or the Seattle Parakeets, I have to remind myself I'm watching the same game Al Davis made famous and not rhythmic gymnastics. And, is that Jonathan Edwards quarterbacking the Green Bay Packers (Which reminds me: What do they pack anyways?)?.
The Raiders are borderline criminals that, ironically, take no prisoners; They're tough bad boys with the b**** to throw the long ball. The Raiders are so athletic, they're the only sports team that can win the Superbowl (next year), the World Cup, and the World Series (Who knows, maybe America's cup as well.)
No pretty boys here, either. Jim Plunkett and Lyle Alzado for us.
Why would anybody disagree? Raider hate (or "phobia," to be more precise)- it's real and it's a plague.
Now that the Raiders have given the league a chance to catch up, I hope the sleeping giant that is the Raiders provide the nation with some good, old-fashioned pigball next year. Until then, I'd rather watch synchronized swimming.
