Why is Miss America dressed as a snowflake?
07/15/08

I'm puzzled by Crystle Stewart's choice of a snowflake for America's national costume. America isn't primarily known for its wintery weather, is it? Maybe Iceland, but America? I can understand if Miss Saudi Arabia went as a drop of oil or Miss Libya as a clump of sand since those countries are famous for their resources or environment, but who associates the Unites States with snow?
Cowboys may be a little cliche, but how about an astronaut or internet geek?
