Christian Bale responds to Terminator 4 set explosion
02/04/09

When contacted by Asymmetric about his tirade on the set of the upcoming Terminator: Salvation (above, but be careful; it has strong language), Christian Bale replied with the following statement:
Dear appreciates,
Although I don't feel that I need to explain myself- all artists will sympathize, I imagine, I will do so nonetheless. Some people have interpreted my passion for art as a tantrum from a spoiled primo don. Nothing could be further from the truth. People go to Batman and Terminator movies to see me act. I not only feel a responsibility towards them to give a performance worthy of their faith in me, but to their descendants who will require inspiration in an age of uncertain climate conditions and to the art of acting which requires constant sustenance by committed professionals. Shane Hurlbut, the director of photography ("DP" to you nons) and not an artist, as I pointed out to him, was distracting me. Many of you non-artists don't realize the level of concentration necessary for acting. What if, for instance, I had been distracted to the point of confusing characters, and I had given a Batmanish gravelly growl instead of the pensive, sympathetic, but reassuring sigh required of a future leader of the earth's resistance to genocidal robots? The consequences to art could have been disastrous!
I was also feeling a little upset because the guy washing my Porsche put cherry perfume on my carpet instead of new-car, the as*****. One more guy looking for work.
Therefore, fear not, consumers of art: what I did was in your best interests. I am but a guardian of art, a burden and an honor I accept with pride.

Hahahha, at first I thought this was real, and was about to type our raged comment when I read about his "art", but then I read about Porsche and burst out laughing. Good stuff.
I honestly can't blame him for blowing up, he's just trying to get the ****ing scene done right
That was a beautiful retort. Well done, Mr. Bale.-Hester
Hello i dont understand what the big stink is about.so what christan bale was pissed.we all do it dont u think if u did it it would make u a spoiled bratah of course not it only makes u human.as fr me the people who are havin a big stink should look at them selfs before saying anything about someone ealse as they say look in the mirror first.me i think hes a very talented actor who has feelings just like everyone here.so think about what u people say cause ur wrong.
The Fact is Christian Bale Sucked on the Set....So instead of taking the Blame he simply blew over the DP...and now he acting like a Dark Knight of ART....FREAKhh..
An interesting response. Might be nice if he admitted the situation could have been dealt with better.Maybe he was angry because he sucked as John Connor and nearly every actor in the movie was interesting except him.
You serious Clark?
