Piel Canela- Bobby Capo
01/29/07
One of the great Caribbean love songs, "Piel Canela" is sung by Puerto Rican singer Bobby Capo backed by the Sonora Matanacera. Bobby was another solid, if unspectacular singer for the Sonora Matancera. He sings of a lady with black eyes and cinnamon colored skin. I tried to find a good example:

If only she could drive as well as she poses.

PIEL CANELA
(Bobby Capo)
Raphael (Spain)
QUE SE QUEDE EL INFINITO SIN ESTRELLAS
O QUE PIERDA EL ANCHO MAR SU INMENSIDAD
PERO EL NEGRO DE TUS OJOS QUE NO MUERA
NI EL CANELA DE TU PIEL SE QUEDE IGUAL
SI PERDIERA EL ARCO IRIS SU BELLEZA
Y LAS FLORES SU PERFUME Y SU COLOR
NO SERIA TAN INMENSA MI TRISTEZA
COMO AQUELLA DE QUEDARME SIN TU AMOR
ME IMPORTAS TU, Y TU, Y TU
Y NADIE MAS QUE TU, Y TU, Y TU
ME IMPORTAS TU, Y TU, Y TU
Y NADIE MAS QUE TU
OJOS NEGROS, PIEL CANELA
QUE A MI LLEGAN HASTA DESESPERAR
ME IMPORTAS TU, Y TU, Y TU
Y SOLAMENTE TU, Y TU, Y TU, Y TU
ME IMPORTAS TU, Y TU, Y TU
Y NADIE MAS QUE TU

was one of the greatest singers of his time. His music was appreciated internationally. Piel
Piel Canela is a song of a 'cinnamon'
colored woman not 'wheat' colored!! This is
actually the definition of beauty within the
Puerto Rican idenity. Bobby Cabo was my
mother's next door neighbor in Coamo Puerto
Rico and he was and still is loved by all Puerto Ricans.
Bello! Beautiful!Just took me back when I was young girl and my parents used to play that song, over and over!
How can I take this link and share it with somebody? My daughter is getting married soon and she and her grandpa (my late father) used to sing this song together. She would treasure this link!
Thanks!
Piel Canela is one of my favorite songs, in general i love Bobby Capo.
