The Church is infallible in faith and morals and very obviously fallible, considering its history, in recommending to societies how they can best encourage the faith and its moral precepts. My view of these society-oriented encyclicals is to take the societal goal to heart without necessarily encouraging implementation of its policy prescriptions.**

Therefore, Caritas in Veritate:

People shouldn't be only concerned with money. By putting God in the center of our lives, unethical or harmful-to-some business practices will diminish society-wide. Christians should force some kind of conscious on the companies in which they invest. We should care for the poor, and the best way is through non-corrupting private "non-conditional" (and conditional) charity. Where countries have similar values, they can work together to produce fair rules.

That's what I take from this document. Specific policy things that I don't take too seriously:

We have various trade groups and international agreements already and probably don't need another one. Sometimes, the worst way is through public "non-conditional gifts," including foreign aid.
