iPhone price slash and iPod upgrades
09/06/07
I'd be mad if I bought an iPhone the day it came out only to see the price go down 33% a couple of months later. It would be like having asked Rosie O'Donnell to marry you minutes before Beyonce entered the restaurant. Apple should offer something like a gift card, I think. Mac zealots will probably still be proud of their eagerness, however, "I don't care. I'm happy to have given Apple the money after all they've done for computing. There's no way I could ever repay them."
As for the new iPod features: Who cares about downloading from Starbucks? Are you that desperate for Justin Timberlake that you'd pull over into a Starbucks instead of waiting five minutes to get to your house?
Wireless sharing? I guess kids hang around the quad and exchange music, but I couldn't imagine anybody over 22 asking, "hey, can I get that on my 'pod?"
Touchscreen? It looks cool, but I prefer buttons. What can't you do with the controls now? I also don't care about album art.
And surfing the internet on your iPod? Anybody hip enough to own an iPod surely has a phone capable of internet, although the iPod's screen looks very nice, I must admit.
I've still never watched a movie on a music player.
