The problem with Verizon Mobile Web 2.0 email and PDA phones

09/10/07

Actually, the problem isn't with Mobile Web itself which I use often to check my emails and read the news waiting for a movie or standing in line. The problem is that I can't get it with the more expensive PDA phones like the Motorola Q, Palm Treo, the various offerings from Blackberry (the 8830 World Edition looks especially cool), or the Verizon Wireless XV6700. If I want to use email with any of the PDA phones, I have to spend an extra $44.00 a month for a more complete web package instead of the cheap $5.00 for Mobile Web which includes email. Also, with the more expensive package, I can't use the limited but easy to use Mobile Web 2.0 browser that lets me do 90% of what I'd want to do on a portable device.

I'm sure there's a good reason, but it would be nice if Verizon would offer something like Mobile Web 2.0 or a simple email program for $5.00 with the PDA phones. I would have bought one if they did.
