Which one should I buy: The Navigon 2100 or the Tom Tom One 3rd edition?

12/01/07

I received this question from a reader:

I got a navigon 2100 and a tomtom one 3rd edition for a hundred each at Staples over Thanksgiving. Which do you think is the better system? Thanks!

I myself was curious so I looked online and went over the the Staples and asked the people who worked there (for what it's worth). My reply to her:

"Thanks for visiting. On paper, it looks like the Tom Tom is better. It has millions more points of interest (1.2 million and 3.1 million) and is upgradable. I've never used it in anger, but I'd give it a shot first."

The units are about the same size and I'm assuming that the Tom Tom's operation is as easy as the Navigon 2100's.

My Navigon 2100 review is here.
