Save money by replacing your UPS battery

The battery replacement light on my Conext UPS 900VA informed me that the battery had conked out. Accustomed to the throw-away society in which we live, I was just about to dispose of it when I decided, just for the heck of it, to check how much a replacement battery would cost. I fired up the Google engine and gave it a whirl. Well, at Batterywholesale.com, a replacement was only $40.00. Since the cheapest 900VA battery backup unit is 84.77 at Amazon, I saved a whole $40.00. Not only that, but I helped the environment a little, at least.
In case you don't know the advantages of a UPS, it runs your computer for a few minutes in case of a power outage. That's not why I use it, however. I once had a hard drive crash after a brownout. A battery backup regulates the power going to your computer so it even out fluctuations.

Verizon is about the only place you can get the authentic RIM product and matching door. Most other sites are out of stock and even when they are in stock they have the black battery door which looks like crap. http://www.batteryfast.com.au/:)
